The last photo worthy trip of the holiday brought us to the Teleferico Benalmadena, which we went up to after our trip to Selwo Marina.
This outing unlike the others isn’t ideal for someone with a fear of heights, as it requires you to take a 15 minute wide on a cable car to the summit of Mount Calamorro, some 2,500 feet above sea level.
If you can get over this, the trip offers some fantastic views over Benalmadena and the wider Costa del Sol, and, if the weather is good, you can see all the way over the to Rock of Gibraltar.
At the top, there are a number of walking routes, ranging in difficulties, which, allow you to see various different vistas.
Given that it is so high up and the area is free of predators and native fauna (apart from the odd Goat), they have set up a Bird of Prey centre. This allows the staff to educate visitors and gives the birds the ability to fly free for as long as they like (of course ideally they will come back during the display), giving you the chance to see them in their natural habitats.
Even though our visit was rather windy, and there were a few spots of rain up the top, it is a great experience and this is an attraction we could visit again and again.
As you will likely know if you follow me, I am quite into birds and falconry displays, they are one of my favourite subject matters. Without further ado, here are the pictures.
That marks the end of that holiday trip. Since getting back I have been out on a couple more photography trips, so keep an eye out as I start to upload them.
Thanks for looking.
